Originaire de la r\u00e9gion parisienne, Emmanuel est un auteur qui n’aime pas vraiment \u00e9crire. Un chanteur de reggae qui ne fait pas de reggae du tout mais passe beaucoup de temps \u00e0 \u00e9couter des musiques de films japonais. Un compositeur admiratif de Stravinsky qui pr\u00e9f\u00e8re passer ses nuits en sound-system. Un producteur \u00e9lectronique qui pense se remettre \u00e0 l’acoustique. Un rocker malgr\u00e9 lui.<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t passionn\u00e9 par la musique, il compose ses premi\u00e8res chansons (qu’il appelle des blues) \u00e0 5 ans sur un clavier pour enfant. A l’\u00e9poque il imite les pas de danse de James Brown tout en regardant des op\u00e9ras sur le petit \u00e9cran. Un peu plus tard, de l’\u00e9trange exp\u00e9rience qui consiste \u00e0 travailler des concertinos pour clarinette, puis, dans la m\u00eame journ\u00e9e, \u00e0 aller freestyler sur les beats des producteurs de rap de l’\u00e9poque, il retire le sentiment qu’il existe des passerelles entre toutes les musiques. Il lui est d\u00e9sormais impossible de se cantonner tr\u00e8s longtemps dans un genre musical pr\u00e9d\u00e9fini.<\/p>\n

Durant la deuxi\u00e8me moiti\u00e9 des ann\u00e9es 90, il monte un premier groupe dont les morceaux m\u00ealent et malm\u00e8nent diverses influences dans une sorte de fusion inclassable, bien que clairement orient\u00e9e hip hop. Il \u00e9coute Jeru the Damaja, Steve Coleman ou Portishead<\/em>. Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000 il se tourne vers l’\u00e9lectro. Se sentant des affinit\u00e9s avec la sc\u00e8ne Broken Beat, puis avec des courants plus exp\u00e9rimentaux, il devient un v\u00e9ritable rat de home studio, expert en nuits blanches, qui vit la nuit et dort \u00e0 la fac.
